FIRE HOUSE EXHAUST REMOVAL AT
PENSACOLA NAVAL AIR STATIONFire Truck Exhaust Removal

Monoxivent provided a source capture system for the Pensacola Naval Air Station’s Fire Department. The Pneumatic Rail features a unique ducting mechanism. The rail itself, acts as the exhaust duct. The AX-PR also incorporates state-of-the-art pneumatics and controls. Within the exhausting rail, a track system guides the hose-drop assembly, which is parallel to the vehicle. The hose-drop assembly consists of a balancer, steel-lifting elbow, high temperature/high-visibility hose, safety disconnect, and pneumatic adapter. This assembly travels along the track as the vehicle departs the bay.

The pneumatic adapter is a distinguishing feature for the AX-PR. The adapter attaches and inflates to the vehicle exhaust pipe, creating a complete seal to capture all fumes. A quick exhaust valve is located near the tailpipe for virtually instantaneous bladder release. To attach the adapter, the operator simply depresses the manual deflate valve, sets the bladder on the tailpipe, and releases the valve. A extension on the adapter allows a flexible tubing assembly to stay clear of the truck; therefore assuring no contact with the vehicle, while it is moving. The AX-PR is activated by a pressure sensor, which automatically starts the exhaust fan. The system, also, automatically shuts off with a timer/temperature mechanism. No manual intervention is required.
